BBC Local Radio: Unlocking Mysteries

Mystery was in the air when Team Kenland visited BBC Local Radio and legendary presenter, John Gillmore AKA “Gilly” at the Darwen Street studio in Blackburn.

The subject of discussion: mystery coach tours, mystery shoppers and Lancashire retail brand, JAK Hanson’s reaction to being nominated as a finalist in the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2023.

Jane Ramones, boss of the Wrightington shopping outlet and also Kenland’s strategic director, talked about the honour of being recognised in the ‘Family Business’ category alongside celebrated names such as Frederick’s Ice Cream and Partington’s Holiday Parks.

She also chatted about the rise in popularity of coach tours in the UK and how the proximity of JAK Hanson to the M6, plus its single level layout, on-site cafe and Farm Shop made it a favourite choice for coach companies seeking a welcoming alternative to motorway services.
